  1. To install the system on your Hard Drive; change to the directory (CD.. )
  2. where you want it installed and enter the command - COPY A:*.* .
  3. To start the system enter the command DIRCS. A main menu will appear
  4. and you will have the options of TRANSACTIONS, RATES, CALCULATE,
  5. & EXIT.
  6.  
  7.      TRANSACTIONS allow you to enter a transaction date along with a
  8. transaction amount. Use your cursor control keys to position the highlight
  9. to a field, press enter to activate editing (a flashing cursor will appear),
  10. type in the values, press escape to exit the field. To enter a new record,
  11. press the cursor down key until the symbol <new> appears in the editor header.
  12. To omit a record from the calculation press delete on that record, <deleted>
  13. will appear in the editor header when the cursor is on that record.
  14. Negative amounts in the transactions file are subtracted from the running
  15. balance.

  17.     RATES allow you to enter a rate in decimal form (ie: 8¼ % = .0825),
  18. along with that rates effective date. Entry is done as with transactions.
  19. These rates will be automatically adjusted into the calculations.

  21.     CALCULATE will meld these two files together creating a balance
  22. forward report similiar to a bank statement -- ie:
